Eltono Modern Street Artist

The word “graffiti” is often associated with vandalism. However, for modern street artist Eltono, graffiti is just another word for art. That’s because Eltono’s work can be found painted onto buildings and walls, in the same places one would expect to find graffiti. But don’t be fooled — Eltono’s work is more than just graffiti — it’s modern art.

Eltono, Spanish for “the tone”, is an artist who is known for painting a uniquely geometric and abstract version of a tuning fork as graffiti. Eltono, beginning in Madrid in 1999, has spread his work all over Europe, South America, and Korea painting buildings, walls, rail sides, and any other surface you can find in a modern city.

When many people think of graffiti, they envision bright colors and big shapes that can be overpowering. Eltono’s work is a statement against this type of graffiti — his work is subtle and understated. Eltono does such a wonderful job of keeping his work simple that it’s possible you could walk by it and never notice it.

Part of the reason that Eltono’s work is so different from other street artists is that he uses a different technique. While many of his contemporaries use spray paint, which usually renders art that is bulbous and rounded, Eltono uses plastic paint and masking tape. These materials allow him to create art that is linear and geometric, making his work stylistically unique.

Eltono’s work seems to draw one’s eye to obvious discrepancies in the cityscape. For example, one can imagine a brick wall with windows that have been haphazardly boarded over by previously weathered plywood. Perhaps it’s easier to imagine the side wall of a building, constructed of different types of brick, lumber, and iron. These are both common sights on a run-down block of any major city. For Eltono, these scenes are a blank canvas.

Once Eltono has discovered his canvas, he will paint a variety of geometric shapes and straight lines to draw illustrate the inherent discrepancies of the surface. But his work is in sharp contrast to graffiti because it is so subtle, and this characteristic may be the reason Eltono has received wide international recognition.

Like all good art, Eltono’s work generates more questions than it answers. Does Eltono work in geometric shapes to draw attention to the harsh city environment? Is their a political statement? Because Eltono’s chosen medium is often associated with vandalism, will his work receive the attention it deserves? While only time will tell, Eltono’s work certainly deserves your attention now.

Artist Helps Dementia Patients

Popular painter Sarah-Jane Szikora has announced that she is using her artistic abilities to help dementia patients.

The northern artist announced on her personal blog that she is currently involved in the initial stages of designing and refurbishing three dementia wards in Bradford teaching hospitals.

Sarah-Jane said she hopes that her personal experience of dementia through her mother’s illness will help other people who are affected by the condition.

She wrote in her blog: “Through art, I can also use the experience and hopefully turn it into something positive for others. We must always strive to see the brighter side of life amidst the darkness of living. Laughter, after all, is the best medicine.”

The artist is spending less time on producing Sarah-Jane Szikora prints so that she can fully concentrate her efforts on the design and refurbishment project.

Sarah-Jane has called for further investment from potential donors as the scheme is mainly funded by charity and only receives a small amount from the NHS.

She added on her blog: “So what we lack in funds, we must try and make up for in creativity!”

Sarah-Jane recently told the arts and culture journal Fally rag that she hopes that her light-hearted and humorous prints of giant gingerbread man and confectionary characters provide people with happiness.

She told the publication: “The world doesn’t owe you happiness; you must earn it. Get on that journey of self-discovery and change something. Art helped me to be happy, so hopefully by offering my results, I can pass a little bit of that on.”

Sarah-Jane said that she wanted to inspire human warmth and connection through her irreverent artwork as she does not want to add to the despair that some people already experience.

“The world has seen enough misery without Tracy Emin’s dirty knickers thrown in,” she told Fally rag.

Life drawing classes at the Cleveland College of Art inspired Szikora’s passion for illustrating the human body, which she has now evolved to create extreme comedy figures.

People interested in viewing Sarah-Jane Szikora prints will be pleased to know that the artist said that she will soon be revealing the dates of some gallery events taking place in July.

The artist also said on her blog that she had the pleasure of going to an exhibition in Newcastle which displayed Fabian Perez prints.

Sarah-Jane Szikora prints have been displayed in Harrods, Selfridges and several important exhibitions across the United Kingdom.

Best Ways to Choose a Voice-Over Artist

Finding the perfect voice for your project can seem like an overwhelming task. The voice talent must be able to convey the correct emotion for the script, sound authoritative and knowledgeable, communicate and pronunciate clearly, and fit the subject and audience. Here are three steps to help you find the right voice-over actor or actress for your project.

Determine your needs.
Before you begin listening to demos and sifting through resumes, determine what exactly youll need from the talent. Do you need to find local talent that you can communicate with face to face, or can you hire someone that works remotely? Both options have their pros and cons. Some producers prefer to sit in on recording sessions so they can give notes and make suggestions. This can be especially beneficial if youre dealing with a highly technical or scientific script that contains hard to pronounce words or acronyms. However, attending recording sessions can lead to scheduling problems and giving too many notes can increase session time and costs. Many VO artists prefer to work remotely and deliver files over the Internet. Remote work is typically less expensive and has a faster turnaround, but carries the risk of getting reads you are unhappy with or that must be redone because of errors.

Consider the audience and subject.
As you begin your search for the right voice-over actress or actor think about the message you are trying to convey and the audience that will be listening. Do you need a fun and bubbly voice, or a stern and serious voice? Would a caring, tender voice send the wrong message? How about a distinguished, scholarly sounding voice? A voice-over actor that is perfect for a law enforcement training video is probably not going to be the best voice to narrate a childrens book, and differences like this should definitely be considered. Think about dialect and accent too. Sometimes the right accent or dialect can add a sense of familiarity or relateability with your particular audience, other times an accent might seem less approachable or trustworthy.

Listen to demos.
Once you have an idea of the type of voice youre seeking start listening to voice-over talent demos. Well regarded and professional VO actors and actresses will certainly have a variety of high quality material to show. Listen in to the demo material and evaluate the subtle qualities of each narrators voice. Do they speak clearly and are the easy to understand? How is the pace of their read? Is it too fast or slow? Does their pace match the subject matter?

By breaking down the process into easy steps finding the perfect voice can be easy, and having the right voice for your production will help you better connect with your audience and convey your message.

Ed Hardy – From Tattoo Artist To Fashion Brand

Before breaking into the fashion world, Don Ed Hardy was a tattoo artist from Southern California. He was born in 1945 and graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. In 1973, he had the opportunity to study Japanese tattoo design under Horihide, a master of classical Japanese tattoo. Don Ed Hardy’s tattoos are one-of-a-kind and recognised around the world.

He and his wife have published a series of books about alternative art, under the label of Hardy Marks Publications. Hardy’s publishing career began with his five-part series “Tattootime.” He now has over 25 publications to his name, including many catalogs of his work.

Although Hardy no longer tattoos, he still oversees the work done at his studio, Tattoo City in San Francisco. He continues to concentrate on other art forms, including printmaking, painting and drawing, using his distinctive style.

In 2002, Hardy made the move into the world of fashion, licensing Ku USA to begin production of clothing using his artwork and style. Saks noticed the colorful and unique designs and began to distribute the clothing. Hardy formed an LLC with Ku USA, called Hardy Life.

The Ed Hardy clothing line was later licensed to Christian Audigier in 2004, following a chance meeting. Celebrities quickly picked up on the new fashion line and a new trend was born: tattoo fashion. Ed Hardy stores were opened in fashion districts, including New York, Los Angeles and Dubai. Devotees of the brand consider it more of a lifestyle celebrating tattoo art, rather than simply clothing to wear.

An Ed Hardy line is also available for kids. The line features clothing ranging from baby sizes all the way up to clothing for teens, available up to size 16. Items available include designer T-shirts, hoodies, dresses, jeans and even school supplies featuring tattoo artwork.

A line of professional styling tools marketed under the Ed Hardy name was introduced in 2010. The tools, all featuring the Ed Hardy name and artwork, include items like styling irons, blow dryers and hair accessories.

The Christian Audigier fragrance line first introduced Ed Hardy fragrances in 2008. The first offerings were Ed Hardy for women and Ed Hardy for men. The feminine version brings to life the vibrant tattoo art. The bright fruity scents of mango, strawberries and grapefruit are instant attention grabbers, the fragrant representation of the blazing colors in the artwork. Ed Hardy for men is woody and aromatic, with mandarin orange, bergamot and sage at the top, a hint of mint and a deep base of amber and musk.

These fragrances were followed by other in the series, including Hearts and Daggers, Love and Luck, Born Wild and Villain. Most of the fragrances in the Ed Hardy collection are available in both men’s and women’s versions.

Arbe – The Artist

Arbe, the artist who has achieved world-wide success, comes from Soviet Armenia. Arbe, also known as Ara Berberyan, is the son of a well-known and highly regarded artist and professor of Art and Design. Arbe’s father recognized his son’s potential and talent when Ara was still young. When Arbe was twelve, his art work was first exposed to the world in -The World by Children’s Eyes- exhibition. The exposition was opened in the U.S.S.R and then traveled to Canada, United States, France, and Italy. Arbe went on to complete a Master of Art degree at the University of Art and Designing in Yerevan, Armenia. During his studies in the nation’s capital, Arbe was especially drawn to the works of Klimt, Picasso, and Dali for inspiration. Although material on these artists was limited in the Soviet era, Arbe managed to find the appropriate works. After graduation, in 1981, numerous government-commissioned projects at national theaters, hotels, and the Yerevan Airport were completed by Arbe. The artist focused on the development of his career. It was not easy to be an artist in the Soviet Union. However, through his determination, Arbe succeeded in obtaining various projects through the Architectural Office, -Gostproect-. During this time, facades for public buildings, officer, and other spaces were designed by Arbe. The artist used elaborate gold designs and ornate marble patterns in his work on the facades, no doubt drawing his inspiration from the renowned Gustav Klimt. Various private commissions for exclusive clients and government officials followed. These private pieces included murals, classical portraits, and numerous landscapes.

Oil on canvas work is typical to Arbe’s art. Paintings that incorporate metallic textures in abstract backgrounds can also be recognized as those completed by Arbe. The artist likes to use gold and silver hand worked leafs to give his creations a three dimensional and attention grabbing aspect. His pieces are an exquisite mixture of modern and classic, completed in earth-tone palettes with vivid, sparely added colors such as red, blue, and purple. The artist also likes to use Armenian history, legends, biblical themes as inspiration for his work. Arbe’s art work is characterized by a feeling of peace and exudes a soothing glow. International art auctions and various online art auctions are great sources for purchasing this amazing artist’s work.

The Essential Supplies Every Tattoo Artist Needs

If youre a tattoo artist and youre making plans to open a tattoo parlor or if you just want to do tattoos on the side on work from home or part time, then there are a few things that youll need to do first in order to improve your skills and to make sure that youre properly prepared for being in the business of tattooing. Not only do you need to have tattoos supplies, you also need to have tattoos supplies of extremely high quality. The quality of the tattoo products you work with can drastically make or break the quality of the tattoo itself, for example, if you buy very low quality tattooing inks, then youll most likely end up giving someone a tattoo that ends up fading a lot in a very short period of time, or it could end up looking differently than what the customer wanted.

There are some basic tattoos supplies that every artist needs to have. One of the most important tattoos supplies products that you should have is a great tattoo machine, often referred to as a tattoo gun that holds the needle. Obviously, if youre going to be taking a needle to someones skin, regardless of the fact that youre depositing tattooing inks on someone, you need to have products that are not only sterile but also of high quality so that the experience is safe and also pleasant for the customer. If you purchase tattoo needles that are of poor quality, it can be a very painful experience for the customer and you also risk not being able to correctly deposit tattooing inks into the skin, resulting in poor looking tattoos.

In addition to making sure that the needles are of high quality, you also want to make sure that you keep enough in stock so that you never use the same needle twice, even if it is on the same person more than once. Always keep enough needles on hand to accommodate the number of tattoos you project doing; a safe way to estimate the number you need is to always add an extra ten percent.

Youll also want to make sure you keep the different types of needles on hand, as different kinds of needles are used for different shading and lining effects, especially when using different colors of tattooing inks.

These products are two of the most important supplies you can keep on hand, and if you do so, youll be on the path to successful tattooing.

How Do Celebrities Influence Our View Of Cosmetic Surgery

In the world today, people are influenced by what they see and hear. Specifically, dress and appearance have become a major emphasis and concern in society today. Thus, when celebrities decide either for or against having liposuction or plastic surgery, their decisions can impact others. This article will discuss some celebrities who have had the procedure and how that affects everyone else.

Britney Spears, after having her second child received an abdominoplasty, otherwise known as a tummy tuck. This procedure makes the abdomen more firm. Those who generally choose this surgery have either just been through a pregnancy or have extra sagging skin from weight loss. Rather than resorting to healthy eating and exercise, this procedure can be a quick and efficient way to shed a few extra pounds.

Especially after pregnancy, women are often extremely self conscious about their appearance. If Britney Spears needs extra help to look her best after being pregnant, naturally more woman are apt to feel the same. In recent years the term “mommy-makeover” has become more common. This is a double procedure of breast augmentation and a tummy tuck after having given birth.

Many other celebrities are rumored to have undergone liposuction including Kelly Osbourne, Debbie Gibson, Jessica Simpson and Gene Simmons. Some celebrities undergo liposuction multiple times and put their health at risk. They want fast, effective results to have the perfect appearance for the big screen or record album cover.

Celebrity magazines can be harmful and misleading. Because of digital image manipulation, the images can be altered to be far from the truth. Thus, misrepresentations of celebrity’s liposuction procedures can be displayed. As a result, this can affect people’s view of the procedure–whether for better or worse. This could happen in the line at the grocery store or at the beauty salon.

Get the facts straight before making conclusions. Learn to be comfortable with the person you are, rather than going to the celebrities for every move you make. Be independent and be smart.

Because of the tabloids, people may be more inclined to have the surgery simply if they see a celebrity has had it done. However, thoughtful care should be placed into the idea of having liposuction. Be sure you have done all you can: eating healthy and exercising diligently. It is important not to let your views or actions be swayed by those who supposedly hold the “social power” in society–the celebrities.
